Learning in hand
Learning in Hand is a great resource for educators looking for more resources on mobile and digital learning. Tony Vincent started out as a teacher himself and thus provides great insight into the classroom. One of my favorite posts on his website was 17 tools for Formative Assessments. This blog shows the many different apps that can be used to assess your students knowledge on subjects. It shows how you can use Google Docs, Pickler, and Poll Everywhere and many other online resources to assess your students on different subjects. However, nearpod was something I had never heardof. This app and online resource seemed like it would be a great tool in the classroom. It allows teachers to upload slideshows they have created and then add questions to certain slides. These questions could be multiple choice, short answer, or drawings. The thing I like most about this app is that teachers can choose the teacher-paced option which requires the whole class to follow along or the student-paced option where students can work at their own pace. This was something I had never heard of and depending on the subject you were reviewing this could be a great tool to promote student learning. It is so hard to keep up with the fast pace technolgy world around us, but Tony Vincents website, Learning in Hand, helps keep teachers up to date.
